The Tatar community in Adelaide, South Australia celebrated the Sabantui at the Stockade Botanical Park on the 16th December 2012. Special guests and government officials were invited to this gathering. The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan sent well-known and talented singers from Tatarstan, folk singer of the Republic of Tatarstan Ms. Venera Ganeeva and Honorary singers of the Republic of Tatarstan trio Kazan Yegetlere (Marat, Artur and Aidar), to Adelaide to take part in Sabantui celebrations. Association members met the guests at the Park with chak-chak in accordance with Tatar tradition. From the attending government officials Mr. Hieu Van Le, Lieutenant Governor of South Australia, Hon Jennifer Rankine MP, Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Hon. Jing Lee MLC, representing Hon. Isobel Redmond MP, Leader of the Opposition, Hon Robyn Geraghty MP made speeches at the Sabantui. Adelaide Turkish community also participated in the Sabantui and prepared their culinary delights to please the hungry crowd at the Sabantui. Members from Uzbek, Uighur and Russian communities also came to Sabantui and took part in many of the activities.
